We treat the garden and home as one; the landscape is as an extension of your home and garden spaces are outdoor rooms. Just as the time periodically arrives to renovate an interior, the same applies for outdoor spaces. On this site, lighting patterns had shifted and evolved as the trees matured; perennials had died out over time leaving gaps and opportunities to replenish. Simultaneously, privacy needs shifted as neighbours moved, rebuilt and extended their homes.

We focused on the desire for year round colour, a naturalized plant palette to attract and sustain wildlife, and a welcoming vista from which to sit and enjoy this sanctuary in the middle of the city.
